Recount in Glasgow East...

...according to Radio FiveLive. First count had a SNP win by 400 votes; however a recount is taking place at Labour's request, due to their candidate Margaret Curran sharing a surname with the Socialist candidate.

I can't imagine that there will have been that many mistakes, so I shall now retire for some shut eye in the knowledge that the Labour leadership is now a poisoned chalice and, so it would seem, there is no longer such a thing as a safe Labour seat in Britain.

Maybe I'll wake up and Labour will have retained - but I'll doubt it.

Hi John

The news is as bad as it sounds. Difficult to see how Brown is going to excuse this one. It puts the forthcoming discussions at Warwick in a different perspective.

Good blog by the way. I have linked to your blog. I will try and visit more often.
